Who can you trust when the world you know comes apart?

Danvar has been found, but that's only the beginning of woes. Low-Pub is filled with brigands, scofflaws, and rumors. Can anyone be trusted? Anyone at all? The whole world of the sand has turned sideways and - if possible - life has become even cheaper.

Dunes Over Danvar 2 Salvage, is the second short story in the Dunes Over Danvar series to be set in New York Times Bestselling Author Hugh Howey's world of SAND, and is written and published with the permission of Hugh Howey.

Dunes Over Danvar 2 Salvage eBook Michael Bunker

I LOVE this series. Again, I keep forgetting that I'm reading fan-fic! Sand was amazing, but the Dunes series, while cleverly pinning itself to events and places in Sand, is an independent story with a message all its own.

I think I said this about Dunes 1, if you've read Sand but haven't read Dunes Over Danvar, then you're missing part of Sand.

Also - Dunes was the first book by Micheal Bunker that I read. It turns out that Micheal Bunker is one of my favorite writers, and I never knew it! I now find myself reading his other works between installments of Dunes and Pennsylvania, just like I read all of Hugh Howey's books between installments of WOOL. Sand -> Dunes Over Danvar -> Micheal Bunker's other works = win, win win!

Dunes Over Danvar 2 Salvage eBook Michael Bunker Reviews

I started reading Dunes over Danvar after reading Sand by Hugh Howey. As another reviewer stated, this is easily on par with the source material.

I'll put it this way I'm checking every 2-3 days to see if part 3 is out yet. It sounds like it will hopefully be out by the end of this month, and as soon as it is, I will stop whatever I'm doing and read it cover to cover. This story is that good!

So I suggest that you read Sand by Hugh Howey first, then move on to these books. If you find yourself waiting for the next entry in the series, go check out some of Michael Bunker's other books, the man is a great writer, and I find myself captivated by his stories.
This is just a good, original post-apocalyptic story with a great - suspend your disbelief - type of technology. real human behavior, and not a YA book of this type. There are enough of those. The characters are written well but not overly so. The story arc is unpredictable. I only wish the series was longer.
Please just write the whole story from beginning to end in one book.!! How difficult it is to wait for the rest! Not fair.!!
Hope this author doesn't do this all the time. I would rather buy the finish product and I know that the books are very well written and look forward to every new book out by these authors. Hugh Howey and Michael Bunker are five stars always, in my opinion. Haven't been disappointed in any books they have written. A good imagination is a rarity and they both are very gifted with such.
The story gets better in this second installment. Peary is just trying to get out of the chaos of Low-Pub with his lady, and as much loot as possible, of course. He's plagued by betrayal at every turn, poor guy.

Michael Bunker threw in a very nice touch with a scene that views one of the events in Hugh Howey's Sand from Peary's perspective. That anchors the events in this series to the timeline established in Sand.

I'm really enjoying this series, so I won't even mention the cliffhanger ending.
Salvage, the second book in the Dunes Over Danvar series, was published quietly. I wish would fix the email notifications so I would have known this Michael Bunker book was already out and ready for me to read. I was really looking forward to part 2, and the author did not disappoint. We meet a new character in this book, and follow others on a new adventure into the sand. I look forward to seeing what happens next in part 3 of Dunes Over Danvar.
Review from Dunes Over Danvar Omnibus

Very cool addition to the Sand universe created by Hugh Howey. Nice twists and mystery to take us from start to finish. Michael did a great job showing us more of the action one can experience in this world's sand diving technology. I would have liked more exploration, but this isn't an epic novel. Considering that, I liked the characters and left their story glad to have met them. Michael did a great job showing the conflict of this world through them. Treasure hunting, lost cities, pirates, and unsuspecting characters they should and shouldn't trust made this a fun adventure.
Let me start by saying that I don't do Fanfic. Don't ask why. No real objection as to why, I just don't ordinarily go for it.

As hooked as I was on Wool, and as sad to see it end as I was, I experimented with some of the large numbers of Wool fanfic titles available and was largely dissatisfied. There's nothing bad to say about the titles I read. They just seemed to be missing something for me.

M. Bunkers "Danvar" work however proved different. He told a quality story with his own voice and tone and managed to make everything click. I quickly tore through his first two Sand stories and am eagerly awaiting the third installment.

If you just finished or are planning to read Howey's "Sand" I would highly recommend looking at Bunker's "Danvar" stories as well.
