Adrian's skill set has been sought by many people. Now, a super-secret organization wants him to do something that he knows is wrong. So much so, that he is willing to take them on, even if it means being up against multiple assassins almost as good as him. Could anyone survive this kind of onslaught?
In some ways, this was a very difficult book for me to get through. I could feel Adrian's internal struggle. His desire to do the right thing and his frustrations with those standing in his way from accomplishing his goals. Still, his choices show that he is continuing to grow as a human being and that he has developed some interesting layers to him. Kudos to Mr. Sumner for sharing not only Adrian's professional side but that of a man learning to deal with life on his own terms, no matter what obstacles are thrown his way.

Supposedly this is the conclusion to the Adrian Hell series. And it is action packed, thrilling, sad, and true to character. This, as all in the series, are very well written and joyable to read. And though this may be the end of the series, there’s room for Mr. Sumner to change his mind and write more. Let’s hope he does so.
I chose this rating because it was another thrilling story that I had a very hard time putting down to do what I had to each day..... like cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping etc. Lol I'm really sorry that one of the main characters had to die but I guess that is the way it has to be. I hope this isn't the end of Adrian Hell, I'm sure Mr. Sumner will bring he back someday. As I have done before, I will recommend these books to my family and friends. Looking forward to his next book!!!
If you have not read an Adrian He'll book, it's a must. Adrian and Josh are a great team...they have fun, which is brought out in so many ways, but take thier jobs very seriously when the time comes. You can start with any book in the series, I would suggest starting with True Convictions. You will not be disappointed with any book in the series. I can not wait for the next book .
For those who are familiar with the Adrian Hell series, this will be familiar. A great pulp fiction story told by a master storyteller. It is harsh, brutal, and action filled. Some of the escapes are unbelievable, but it is a work of fiction. A bit of a spoiler WARNING, probably the most beloved character in this series doesn't survive, and it was very as for this reader. It is a real 5 Star novel.
In this, the latest of the Adrian Hell series, Adrian has been tasked with killing his best friend, Josh. Which is a dilemma. For Adrian has a chip in his head that will blow his head off if he disobeys The Order. What follows is a wild ride that ends up in Vatican City. If you are looking for a gritty, realistic, Jack Reacher type of storyline, this isn't it. This is a lively book of realistic fantasy that is like a roller coaster. Adrian has become more real to me, as well, because he has been forced to reflect on his life, and the meaning of it all. I thoroughly enjoy Sumner's writing, and his ability to spin a wonderful story that entertains is right up there with the best.
The Order of Sabbath just made another huge mistake. The first mistake was thinking Adrian Hell can be coerced into doing anything they bid him to do simply because they implanted an explosive device into his neck. The second mistake was in ordering Adrian to assassinate his best friend, Josh. The problem is just this...Adrian has but minutes only to make up his mind. Either he shoots Josh or they explode that device in his neck.
Once again James Sumner pulls off another stunner with Thicker Than Blood. If you've read any previous Adrian Hell thriller before, you will now know exactly what I'm talking about. If you have not a previous book in the series, rather start from the beginning. This is a stand alone thriller. You will benefit, though, starting at the beginning, getting to know Adrian and Josh. Then you will enjoy this thriller so much more.

Do you like larger than life characters that make the difficult seem easy and the impossible just take a little longer while still seeming like real people? Adrian Hell is such a character. When I first met him, he seemed so much larger than life that I had some difficulty believing his exploits but as I got to know him better I discovered he truly was an amazing person. He has a way about him that I found myself empathizing with much as I do with David Baldacci’s main characters. When combined with the great plots and current technology James Sumner spins a great tale that sucks you right in and moves you along with suspense and excitement. This, the 7th in the series, is no exception and does not disappoint. Go ahead and read it, you won’t be disappointed.
